Paul Swatland - Vice President, Quality Skills Training Institute (formerly Welder Training & Testing Services)
Along with Paul, a new name for our welding school. Paul brings with him a (40) year career in welding, training and sales. Through his hard work and involvement in the welding community we now have that missing part of the puzzle to compliment Tom Matecki and Chuck Geiser. Paul’s networking abilities has already made a proven difference with both manufactures and suppliers .
Mike Sheridan – Hanford Project Manager Mike joins QISI after 13 years with Washington Group International at both the West Valley Demonstration Project and most recently at the Waste Treatment Facility Project in Hanford, Washington. Mike also brings with him almost 13 years with the Department of the Navy as a civilian engineering and management employee in the Naval Nuclear Reactors program. His 25 + years of experience and education in engineering, quality assurance, nuclear readiness, construction, business management, and project management is well suited for the needs of QISI at Hanford and for the company moving into the future.
Russel Del Gesso – Sales Representative
Russel Del Gesso is our new Business Development Representative in Tri-Cities Washington out at the Hanford Site. He has several years experience as a sales manager, business developer, and business owner and currently owns a small business in the city of Kennewick. Though he is still fairly new to the team, he would have to rate the experience with QISI as challenging and exciting, and is looking forward to increasing sales output.
Kevin Newell - Albany Operations Manager
Kevin comes to us from the United States Navy where he served as a Nuclear Field Mechanic in the submarine fleet. Starting at the Syracuse office earlier this year and quickly transferring to fill in as the Manchester Operations Manager, Kevin is getting ready for yet another move. He accepted the Operations Manager position at the Albany Office.
Kevin has brought with him many years of experience in nuclear Quality Assurance and it is his attention to detail and procedures that makes him a tremendous asset to the QIS team.
Joseph Bella, III - Recruiter
Joe was the CEO of Jobsters, Inc. and has been involved primarily as a free-lance staffing vendor to QIS in the past. This past March, Joe joined the QIS team to bring his recruitment, lobbying and client engagement skills to the table. He has proven himself as a positive feature to QIS in the recruitment of personnel nationwide.
Thomas Lunney – Jacksonville Operations Manager
A retired Gas turbine systems Master Chief Petty Officer with 23 years of Naval service.
Tom came to QISI from North Florida Shipyards Inc where he spent 5 and half years as a Quality Assurance Supervisor and Testing Coordinator. Tom is presently Enrolled in FCCJ working toward a degree in Industrial Production Management
Michael Smollar - Connecticut Operations Manager
Mike Smollar comes to us from General Electric where he worked as a non-destructive test specialist. While at GE, he conducted and developed tests for critical GE Gas Turbine components, and was certified as Level II in Eddy Current and PT, and ASNT UT Level III.
Mike also has roots in Buffalo, NY, where he attended SUNY Buffalo and spent some time working as a Manufacturing Engineer for Markin Tubing as well as the Main Axle Assembly Line Supervisor at American Axle and Manufacturing Corp.
Bill Miller - Toledo Operations Manager
Prior to accepting the Toledo Ops Manager position in Ohio, Bill was in the Industrial/Petro Chemical Inspection field where he progressed to level II technician status in MT, PT , UT and VT.
He currently holds API-510, 570 and 653 certificates. And like many other QIS personnel, Bill served our country for eight years in the US Navy.
Mike Basile - Regional Sales Representative – Gulf Coast
Mike very recently came aboard to QIS with several years of sales and supervisory experience.
Mike resides in Louisiana and will be responsible for the day to day sales activities in the Gulf Coast Region. Please take a moment to welcome Mike aboard!
Douglas Marmion - Human Resources Manager
Doug joined QIS, just days ago and will begin working at the Corporate Office on August 11th.
Doug has several years of financial services and employee benefit administration experience and we are looking forward to his entry into the HR arena.
